the one with my little strawberry short cake

This is what I call Maya's strawberry shortcake dress. She and I ventured to her first baby shower today. Maya did so great and it was fun to see the sweet mom-to-be. I do feel very lucky to have a baby that is easy to take just about anywhere. She just eats and naps on the go, so I don't ever worry about being gone too long. Yesterday we trekked to two consignment sales where I didn't have to much luck, but then at the habitat for humanity store I found this:

for $35!

I had been looking for a piece to go in our entryway and I think that this works really well there. I love that it has drawers for extra storage! I need to do some serious cleaning and organizing. I kept thinking that I would have so much time to do that while on maternity leave or this summer-ha! Boy was a fooled :o) Maybe this week.....(hey! you never know)

And a quick picture of the veggies I harvested from our garden today: banana peppers, jalapenos, cherry tomatoes, and a bell pepper. Can't wait to make some salsa with my new toy!

I have a lot of people on my mind today. It seems that there are lots of things happening to those around me, and I just want them to know that they are on my heart. I am not always the best at knowing what to do or say, but please know you are on my heart. Also, Stellan is not doing very well and I just ache for their family. Especially, now that I am a mommy, I just cannot imagine going through what they are going through with their baby. I also know so many couples still struggling and waiting for their baby and they are on my heart as well tonight. Please say a prayer for these people. You may not know them, but God does. I am so thankful tonight for the many blessings in my own life and I pray also that I can learn to not take one single minute for granted. Life is so short and so precious and I want to keep that perspective in my life.

Goodnight friends.
