the one with Maya at 5 months

Okay, just like I do every month..."five months? really? five months????"

I love looking at how much she has grown.

I am not sure how much little one weighs. I meant to weigh her this morning, but forgot (silly mommy brain). She is doing so many fun things! She about has the hang of sitting up. She can sit for about 20-30 secs. I think it won't be long before she is doing it independently. She is also getting closer and closer to somewhat crawling. She scoots side-to-side on her tummy and does some swimming-like motions. She is trying to get her legs under her still too. Jared said this morning that we need to start thinking about baby proofing the house. If you guys have suggestions or resources on that, I would love to hear them!

She is (thankfully) discovering some other sounds. "MMM MMM MMM" is what we hear a lot now. The squealing is well.....maybe ask me in a month :) Let's just say her little friend Zaden imitated it and I don't think his Mommy was too happy! She was so cute watching him and reaching for him during our playdates this week. Another hilarious thing she is doing is straightening her arms to the side, pressing her lips together, and grunting at us. She seems to be saying "don't you understand me?!"

She is so aware of where her mommy & daddy are, and she none too thrilled for them to be out of sight for long! She definitely knows and responds to her name. She really enjoys books and especially her bedtime stories from daddy. She loves baths and gets them daily (whoever said that non-mobile babies don't get dirty is nuts! and hasn't met my child) She is sleeping like a champ and doing 8-10 hours a night with maybe one wake-up. She is still in our room :) (hey it works! why fix something that isn't broken?!) She is very interested in foods that we are eating, but we decided after some research to wait until she is 6 months to introduce solids. I have a feeling that my little munchkin will take to food like a champ! :) She is so much more interested in floor play these days. She loves blocks and any toy that makes a crinkly sound. Most everything goes in her mouth. She still loves her exersaucer too. That thing is awesome when we need to cook or eat! One of the best toys we have!

I think I am getting the hang of shooting manually with my camera. It is hard, but I love the results I get. I have also played a little with photoshop too. After Mckmama's post, I played with the eyes in the last photo below. I like the way it turned out. Enjoy the pictures!!!! Happy 5 months sweet baby girl!
