We celebrated my first ever Mother's Day today. Everyone came over to our house this afternoon. It was a great day! The last two Mother's Day holidays were hard for me because it was another one of those days that was an all day reminder of our struggles to get pregnant. I thought a lot today about those last two years and about some of my friends who are still trying for a family of their own. My heart goes out to those friends today. I did get some wonderful news yesterday that two couples that I have been praying for are now pregnant! One of them is a very good friend and I just could not be happier for them!
I have decided that being a Mommy is the best thing ever! I feel so very lucky and blessed to have our beautiful baby girl. I am enjoying this adventure that is mommy-hood and I am so excited to watch our little Maya learn and grow. It is so amazing how much she has changed and grown up all ready. I keep meaning to get a video of her smiling, but to be honest, every time she does it, I just want to watch her instead of go get the video camera. (obviously the other camera is permanently attached to my hand)
I feel so very lucky because I have a wonderful model for a mother in my Mom. I have definitely learned recently that you are never too old for to need your Mommy :o) She has been such a great support to me in the first few weeks with Maya (speaking of whom is 7 weeks old today!) Thank you Mom for all that you do!
Here is the delicious food that we enjoyed today. I came up with the menu; basil pesto pasta, salad with blue cheese, cranberries, walnuts, and avocado, fruit kabobs, veggies and dip, and deviled eggs, but Jared made pretty much all of it. (Yes, I know how lucky I am!)
Deliciously rich la bombe cake from Provence. Yum! Probably going to regret that second piece later!
