the one with the sunglasses

Look at this funny girl!

Jared actually did this to our poor daughter and took the picture with his cell phone :o)

Mommy and baby :o)

I told Jared that I want him to start taking more pictures because I am hardly ever in them!

Sweet sleeping baby!

Can you tell I like to take pictures while she is sleeping????

Sleeping on daddy on the couch

We are still doing great! I LOVE being home with Maya! Maybe I as it gets closer to time for me to go back to work, I will be ready, but I doubt it :o) I am leaving Maya with my Mom for the first time on Saturday. She will be fine and Mom is going to totally love it, but me, on the other hand-not so excited. I am going to a baby shower and I know it will be fun, but it will be the first time I have left her really :o( I need to start doing it some though, or it is going to be so much harder when I go back to work.

Milestones: Maya has come really close to rolling over. She sort of swings her legs and throws her body up on to her side. She also has taken to grasping material like clothing and blankets. I have discovered the wonderful art of babywearing and she loves to grab and hold on to the sling while she is in it. I started putting a little lovey in her car seat for her to hold on to also :o) She is SUPER smiley and is really reacting to faces. She is making lot of little sweet sounds and looks like she is trying to tell us all something. She is also very close to outgrowing her newborn diapers!!!!

Last thing, I meant to blog about this last week-Many of you guys have read this post and this post about Cali's veternarian traumas. She was due for her yearly vaccines this month. I was very nervous about this as her vet visits have been increasingly terrible. Well, I got several recommendations to go to this vet. He is a holistic vet, and I have to be honest that I was very skeptical that it would be any different. BUT, we had a wonderful experience! The office is very UN-clinical and homey. The vet came out (not looking like a vet-no lab coat) and talked with us in the waiting room for about 45 minutes before doing anything. I ended up having to leave to take Maya home to feed her, but Jared stayed with Cali. He said that she laid down on the floor and the vet laid beside her and was right in her face. Jared had a death-grip on Cali's collar because he is thinking "dude, you are inches from my dog's face and she is NOT a fan of you guys!" This particular vet does not vaccinate yearly because apparently the majority of dog vaccines do not need to be given yearly. The correct rabies vaccine only has to be done once every 3 years and the distemper shot does not have to be given if the animal is tested for it. Cali was good on her rabies shot and they drew blood to test for the distemper (negative). You read that right-DREW BLOOD! PUT A NEEDLE IN MY DOG'S ARM AND KEPT IT THERE FOR 30SECONDS OR SO TO DRAW BLOOD! This is the same dog that would not allow a vet to put a litmus paper to her eye for even 1 second, and she allowed this vet to draw blood with hardly a flinch! It was amazing! Needless to say, we will be now using this vet for all of our pet care!

UPDATE: It is National Infertility Awareness Week. Please pray for the many couples out there struggling trying to have a baby. Infertility is something that no one should have to overcome, but there are so many, many couples struggling. For those struggling, please don't give up hope. I believe that God will help you find a peace in your quest and an answer to your prayers. I have found a way to be grateful for my infertilty, because I know that if my prayer had been answered any other month, I would not have my precious little Maya, who was meant to be here in our arms today.
