Tonight was so much better! Last night was an insane disaster. Maya had a very hard time using her listening ears and we were both extremely tired (her from no nap and me from being up with lil man until 4am). Both kiddos needed baths and I was on my own for the night, so I put on my big girl panties and decided to do it on my own. Well, Maya was finishing up her dinner (which consisted of beans and corn and fruit), so I went back to get diapers and PJs for both. I hear her laughing hysterically on my way back and a DISASTER beholds my eyes. (Mind you I couldn’t have been gone from the room for 5 minutes.) Maya had smeared the food all over the table and flung it everywhere! The dog is happily running through it scooping it up and is thus also covered with said food. OH, I WAS FURIOUS, but I turned my head away and laughed (because otherwise I would have cried). It was SUCH a mess. I despise the carpet under our table daily! I should have taken a picture (who is shocked I didn’t?) but I took the little stinker back to get her bath. Jared came home and took one look at the mess and I just said “don’t ask”
We talked a lot about using good listening ears and when we use good listening ears we get to do fun things. We also talked about making good choices and learned that throwing food on the floor is NOT a good choice.
Today she kept asking me “good wisening ears mama?” We had a fun time at the Adventure Science Center and the evening hours went much more smoothly. Of course, it may have had to do with little man doing this for the majority of the evening:
