I can hardly believe that I am posting this already!
This little guy is ONE MONTH OLD today! I posted a monthly update for Maya every month until she was two and I plan to do the same with Gray. He is sitting next to a monkey made by one of my best friend’s moms (Hi Alacia!) and he is wearing a onsie sent by my sweet blog friend (Hi Rachel!). The onsie says “baby brother” in a circle around his name. 
Stats: He weighs 11 pounds and is 21.5 inches long. He is in size one diapers and 3 months clothes.
Sleep: Little guy is keeping his eyes open for longer periods of time during the day, though he still sleeps a lot. I can usually count on a good nap from 11-2 during the day which is good because it coincides with Maya’s “rest time” (it would be a stretch to call it naptime this week). He sleeps swaddled just like big sister did.
Eating: He eats well and pretty much nurses every two hours around the clock. He does a little longer stretches at night but not by much. I generally can get him down to bed by 8 and I wake him to feed him around 11. Then we usually are up around 2 and 4 and 6.
Personality: So far he seems to be a pretty easy going little guy. He is usually pretty easy to calm when upset and he seems to be interested in his big sister (who is always in his face!) He takes a paci some but usually just when going down to sleep and he often spits it out once he’s asleep.
Development: He already holds his head up pretty well and doesn’t seem to mind tummy time too much. He will push his head up and look around a little when on his tummy. He tracks items with his eyes and he likes to look at faces. He responds to some social play and has even had a few smiles.
He had his one month checkup this week and they are no longer concerned about his eyes. Yay! The infection has cleared up and he just has a bit of a clogged tear duct. 
I also plan to do updates on big sister when I do his updates (as this is my online baby book!)
Maya is now 27 months old.
Oh boy has she been challenging the last few days. She is definitely responding to a little sibling rivalry. She has had a very hard time listening to mommy and has been a bit defiant. Its hard to see her acting out so much because generally she does so well. I feel certain that my lacking sleep doesn’t help the situation either because I know I am less patient with her. This too shall pass….
On the other hand, she LOVES LOVES LOVES Gray and is always asking where he is, what he is doing, and wants to help with him. This girl is FULL of personality. Her vocabulary and language is unbelievable! She has come up with some really funny stuff lately. Her new favorite phrase is “wow cool” in response to any number of things that we tell her. She also is into telling us her preferences “I wuv it so much” “I wike it” and my new favorite “I don’t want to”. She LOVES to play the “name game” which involves asking the names of every family member imaginable “what your name Mama?” Mama refuses to play the name game anymore. (Hey, my sanity is important too!) She literally talks NON STOP and you just never know what she might say next. She likes to do things “my self”. She asks all sorts of questions and sings the words to a whole bunch of songs. She is very into dressing up and pretend. If she is home, she is typically clomping around the house in her princess shoes. She loves playing with babies and cooking in her kitchen.
