18 months

IMG_9053 copy

We sang happy “half” birthday to Maya this morning. My little one is 18 months old. That’s A YEAR AND A HALF! Wow…

She has really started talking in the last few weeks. She has also started school! That is getting better each day. She still cries, but it is getting less, and I think she enjoys parts of the day :)

And here is her running list of vocabulary…because you know in my job I really can’t help it.

Signs: more, all done, eat, bird, airplane, dog, baby, please, swing, thank you, fish, cheese, Barney, jump. New this month:train, love you.

Words: “dada”, “mama”, “dog”, “moo”, “cat”, “quack-quack”,  “vroom-vroom” (car), “go”  “ni-ni” (night-night), “”ha-ha” (hot), “nana” (banana), “neigh-neigh” (horse), “nah-nah” (pacifier), “n-uh” (clean-up) New this month: “scoo-scoo” (squirrel), “socks”, “boo boo”, “baby”, “k” (book), and approximating many more. It is so fun to hear!

I shouldn’t even say this, but someone has been doing a lot better with teeth and sleeping at night. (so now i have officially jinxed myself) Tantrums are getting better and easier to manage, and as I suspected it all came down to frustration with communication.

She does really well with a fork now, and can poke pieces of fruit to eat them. She puts on her croc shoes by herself. She matches several puzzle pieces and puts them in. She points to many, many named items in books. She leads everyone by the hand EVERYWHERE. The last couple of times we have played with our neighbor friend, she has taken him by the hand and pulled him over to toys to play. It is so incredibly cute :)

Size: 18 month-2T clothes. Still in the size 3 diapers. Size 5 shoes. 23lbs 12oz. and 33inches tall.

Being a mama is hard, but it is also the BEST job I have ever had!

Happy 18 months baby girl!

Look at my big girl still rocking her rainboots :)

She’s certainly not a baby anymore (sigh)
