14 months old!

My 14 month old “little” girl

We have had a rough week around our house. The sickies in the form of a stomach bug have been plaguing us. Maya started on Sunday, and still isn’t quite over it. Jared had a touch of it for a few days and I have had it since Wednesday and am still not feeling great.

But, not ones to let the sickies get us down too much, we got out and played outside this afternoon.2010 05 22_0013_edited-1 2010 05 22_0013_edited-2 2010 05 22_0022

I just can’t stand how grown up she looks.

This is not a great shot, but it is the only one I got of her first experience with a sprinkler. It is the only one I got, because she DID NOT LIKE IT ONE LITTLE BIT!

I think  I need to find one that is a bit smaller and doesn’t wiggle so much.

Nothing a little time in the swing couldn’t fix :)

And this is the hysterical face that she makes all the time now when she sucks her lip up to her nose. And then if you do it back to her, she laughs HYSTERICALLY!

And here is what my 14 month old is up to (for my online baby book :):

Communication: She signs “more”, “all done”, “eat”, “bird”, and we are working on “help”, and “book” which she will do sometimes. I will also say that she signs “dance” because she points to the TV and shakes her little bootie to ask for me to turn music on. She has started saying “mama” again and of course says “dada” all the time. She also says “moo”, “dog”, “cat”, “grr” (for what tiger says), and sometimes says “quack-quack”. She points to body parts and clothing; hair, head, eyes, mouth, nose, ears, belly, feet, shirt, shoes, etc. There really isn’t much she doesn’t understand.

Motor: She is walking/running all over the place. She can actually kick the heck out of a ball. It is really quite impressive, because it is not just shuffling into the ball, she is swinging her leg and kicking! She also throws a ball pretty well. She is getting pretty adept at using her spoon to eat, but it is of course, still very messy.

Other: She still only has 5 teeth. I think she may only have 5 teeth forever :) She is in 18 month clothes, though the pants/shorts fall off of her a bit. Still in size 3 diapers. And wears size 4 in shoes.

Hopefully, we will be over these sickies soon and off to lots of summer adventures, as I am off work for a few weeks after Monday-wahoo!!!

Crazy to think that it is warm enough at your place and not ours to play in the back yard with the hose. :)
