This one is the "before" picture. With only the trim up, that Jared did a few weeks ago.

This is the "primer" stage

This is the boys painting the ceiling that HAD to be painted because the former owner's had put stars on the celing-NOTE: taking stars off ceiling=ceiling has to be patched and painted

Poor Cali! This should be another post all in itself.....Cali had to be heavily sedated at the vet yesterday to check out her eye issue. It ends up that she has a tear production problem "dry eye" and will likely be on medicine for the rest of her life. Nothing too serious as long as you keep up the medicine, but blindness and ulcers, etc can occur if untreated. She had an extremely traumatic experience at the vet and I will never be taking her back there again. I was upset to the point of tears last night because she was so not herself and I was so worried that they had broken her little spirit. She is much better today. She insisted on staying in the room we were painting because the window was open :o) I had to kick her out once we really started painting because I didn't want to paint black hair in too!

Dad with his very funny hat that has lights on it! He was so proud!

And the new fan that spurred FOUR TRIPS TO LOWES IN AN HOUR! First, I had to go buy the pole extender (Jared-I was RIGHT!.......He thought we didn't need it). Then Britt (who came over to "paint" and eat chili who ended up being Lowe's chauffer) and I had to go back because we didn't have the light bulbs for the fan which we needed to be able to see to paint. We left Lowe's the second time and had barely gotten out of the parking lot when Jared called to tell us they needed more paint trays and cans. Back for trip number 3! Then, we get home and the light bulbs don't even fit! Mom and I went back for trip number 4. A guy at Lowe's looked at me and said "Are you still wandering around here?"-I sadly had to inform that it was indeed by fourth trip that day!

Me on the floor doing my share of the painting :o)

Grandma very meticulously painting her section. I think the grandparents-to-be were pretty excited to be painting the nursery for their first grandchild!
And the (mostly) finished project. We need to do another coat on the bottom. Darker colors are so hard to get good coverage! I am a little nervous about the green (it is a little darker than I expected) , but I really think with the fabric I chose and our furniture in the room it will work. The next project is going to be starting the floors-GOODBYE CARPET! I cannot wait! I am also going to try pictures during the daytime with natural light tomorrow because the flash is not quite giving the full effect.
Here is a closer shot with the trim detail on the bottom.

And even closer to see the trim
Hopefully, I will be posting with new floors and a put-together crib soon!
And just for fun (and to see if more than 3 people read my blog :o) .....take a guess at what permanently resides on my bedside table now........(will post the answer sometime tommorrow)

what to expect (or some other baby book) and prenatal vitamins. Lotion, hmmmm candy wrapper from 2 nights ago... oooh sorry I looked on mine. Maybe some reading glasses. a frame... wait how big is the table.hahaha I think the first three things is my guess!
love the room. It will look much better than you think once the furniture is all in and the fabric is in there. It is going to be so adorable!
Looks great! I was worried about Zaden's new room color too before we moved...it looked LOUDLY yellow rather than sweetly yellow, but it's great with his stuff in there.
