News from the weird

Okay, so today was very weird! I woke up with a blurred spot in my vision. I didn't think too much about it because I know pregnancy hormones can mess with your vision, but I have this very sweet friend who had a very serious eye condition and surgery last year. Since her ordeal, I don't mess around with things with eyes. So, I called my eye doctor and they told me they wanted me to come in today. I went and the doctor said that i had a retinal hemorrhage (which is basically a burst blood vessel) directly over my retina in my line of vision. He sent me straight to a retina specialist who confirmed this diagnosis. The good thing is that the blood is leaking on top of my retina. It would be much more serious if it was in the retina or under it. Supposedly, it will clear up on it's own. It is just annoying and not too great for seeing. I am actually legally blind in my left eye right now! I couldn't read anything below the big E on the vision test. It just looks like I have a red fingerprint over my left eye. The doctors were unsure of the cause. They asked if I had any injuries or strain, but I don't know of anything that happened. I just woke up with it. They said that it is very likely pregnancy related because of the changes in blood flow. The baby aspirin that I am on daily causes me to bruise very easily (increased blood flow), and the doctors felt that it was a possibility that the baby aspirin contributed to it. As long as I don't have recurrences of this, it should be totally fine. It seems to be just a WEIRD fluke thing.

On the baby front, I got a phone call Friday afternoon and all looked well with the u/s, but they didn't get as good of pictures of the kidneys and fingers as they would like so I will go back in about 3 weeks for another u/s. I will have gotten to see our little one 4 times! Most people only get to do that twice, so I am excited. They said that it is very common that they need you to come back for more pictures, so I am not worried. So, I will have some new pictures to show of our growing little girl.

Hey, sorry I missed your call yesterday, bet you were calling to tell me about your eye issue! Zaden's sick, and throwing up....so we're pretty puny and out of touch around here for now!
