Go get checked!

Last Thursday I went to the dermatologist to get an overall check. The doctor decided to remove a teeny tiny mole on my right leg because he was concerned about it. It was biopsied and was discovered to be dysplastic, which basically means that it was precancerous. They got all of it out, but I will have to go back and be closely monitored. My entire family sees the same dermatologist because he is renowned in his field to be one of the best. I have a history of melanoma in my family, and I should have gotten checked a long time ago, but didn't. Now, Dr. Ellis will take pictures of all of my moles and monitor them. Because of the pregnancy, he wants to be extra careful and will see me every 3 months. Apparently, your moles can change a lot during pregnancy. I am posting this because everyone needs to go in and get checked out. I am a little freaked out by what could have happened had I not gone in. But, as my dad said, "that is why we go".

So please, go get checked!
