My baby is a month away from being two. I can hardly believe it. This last month has been a month of huge development for her. She is talking up a storm, and it is so much fun! She says “I sing” and will sing parts of her ABCs, itsy bitsy spider, and twinkle twinkle. She likes to say “I funny” or “I silly” when she is doing something funny. When she and I were both sick, I guess she got used to having Daddy take care of us. On super bowl night, she and I were laid up on the couch and she kept asking Daddy to bring her things (hmm..wonder where she learned that?) She is also VERY into helping right now. Anytime I am doing anything, she will say “mommy help” to ask to help me. She helps me feed the animals, do laundry, empty the dishwasher, and even helps make dinner. She is still into babies, and I am starting to wonder if she is destined to be the mother of multiples-ha! She lines up 10 babies at a time to feed them or put them to bed. It is hilarious! Let’s hope that she is so helpful with her baby brother. Speaking of, one day I was feeding her lunch and she patted my belly. I asked her if she was saying hi to the baby. She replied “bid (big) baby”. Ha! She is quite the parrot these days, so we have to be careful with what we say. One day I was driving, and someone pulled out in front of me and I said “what the heck dude?” and guess what I hear behind me??? Yeah, at least I didn’t say anything too bad!
She is into counting these days, though most things are “two”. She especially likes her “two elmos”. She is also identifying some shapes, colors, and letters. Although almost everything is “pied” (pink), “blue”, or “white”. I did discover that she is able to match colors with a ball toy. She can draw circles and tells us “circle mama”. She is such a little sponge. I can teach her a word one time, and she remembers it the next time. Although, we have been working on her telling us her name for quite awhile and she hasn’t gotten that one yet. She usually says “my name” or “me!” My favorite thing she does is when we talk about her birthday party, she says “Abby Elmo” because that is what kind of party she is going to have and then she answers “two” when you ask her how old she is going to be. She loves to have her nails painted and will ask “paint toes”. We are still having major issues with her hair twirling, but luckily we have figured out how to get the knots out without tearing her hair. We haven’t had much success with potty training yet. I need to pick a day that we can be home all day and really work on it. I am hoping to do that over spring break next month.
When she was sick a few weeks ago, they did go ahead and weigh her and she weighed 26 lbs. She is still in 2T clothes, size 4 diapers, and size 5 shoes.
