So, we had a little “excitement” Friday afternoon. I had been having quite a few braxton hicks contractions over the past few days and I was getting a little concerned because they were pretty frequent and lasting awhile. I called the dr. and they sent me to the hospital to just check.

They monitored me for awhile and diagnosed me with a UTI (which apparently causes contractions and can lead to pre-term labor). I am on medication and that has brought my contractions back to normal. I did some research and found out that it happens quite often. The interesting part is that pregnant women are typically asymptomatic when they have a UTI, so I am very grateful that I listened to my body and knew something wasn’t quite right. It could have turned into something much worse, but since we caught it early it should clear up and cause no problems. The upside of our hospital visit is that I am already registered for when it is time in 16 weeks Smile
