2010 has been an amazing year and I wanted to remember it in pictures. I am not doing resolutions as I have in year’s past. I always write the same ones and I always “kinda” do them. So this year, I am just going to “do better”. Each day I am going to try to live better than the day before. Why do we have to wait for the new year to start over? Each day is a fresh start.
And without further adieu, here is 2010:
January: We had some snow! I did my first set of maternity photos. Maya started pulling herself up to stand.
February: We decided to build a house. I did my first set of newborn photos. Maya took her first steps.
March: Maya turned 1! Jared turned 33. We put our house up for sale.
April: We discovered a love for water! And I did my first set of engagement photos. We said goodbye to our family dog Lucy. Maya started really walking.
May: The big flood of Nashville saddened everyone. I did some landscape photos. And Maya got in a big pool for the very first time. We had the stomach bug plague at our house.
June: I took a photography class. We had all kinds of adventures at the zoo, centennial park, Cheekwood, and the Tn aquarium. Jared and I decided to leave the expansion of our family in God’s hands.
July: We saw some “neigh-neighs”. I did another photo shoot. Jared and I had our first ever successful date night to the vineyard.
August: Maya wore pigtails. Jared and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. We lost the house that we had built because we couldn’t sell ours. Maya discovered Barney and TANTRUMS.
September: We got a contract on the house and then put an offer in on another one.Maya had her first day of school. We got the new house!
October: We packed A LOT! We found out that we are expecting a baby. We moved into a new house. Maya went trick or treating for the first time! Maya started really talking. I turned 31.
November:We got settled into our new house. We saw our new baby for the first time on ultrasound.
December: We found out we were having a BOY and announced our pregnancy to everyone. We got a few early snows. Maya LOVED everything about Christmas and sweets! We decorated Maya’s new room and I got my new camera!
Here are some shots from my camera today. I also used an 18% reflectance card for the first time (photographers will know what I mean) and I was so impressed with the results. I metered once off the card and didn’t change my settings once. These were shot in the middle of the day!
And here is Maya’s room. I still have to paint the “handprint” dresser, but other than that it is finished!
We are looking forward to 2011 and saying good-bye to 2010. It has not been a great year for some and we hope and pray that 2011 is a wonderful year for everyone!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
