Well, I survived. I did better than I expected. I did enjoy being back at work BUT I know if I had my choice I would be at home with her. Now. we just have to work toward that goal. I HATE leaving her. I cried every day, granted I cried less every day, but still, every day. Maya did great though, and that gave me huge peace of mind. She really enjoyed her days with daddy and grammie.
I did pretty well with my back-to-work plan, which I am fine tuning a bit before I share. Right now it consists of meal-planning and chore-scheduling. I know it sounds like I am being OCD but the way I see it, is that if we do a little each day, then stuff gets done without ever having to spend too much time. This week I did fall behind because there were days that Maya needed me more or I needed her more :o) But that's okay because she is my priority. And my wonderful hubby helped me to catch up this weekend. Once I get it more down to a science, I will share specifics of what I am doing.
Next, on my plan to greenifying our life is making green cleaners. I borrowed this book from mom (and have now ordered one for myself), and I am planning to make glass cleaner, all purpose cleaner, and bathroom scrub using natural ingredients. Two added bonuses: safer for baby and less expensive! I bought the spray bottles and washable cloths that I needed today. I still haven't gotten the recycling going-still in the works. But, I will say that I am trying to be more conscious about the things we buy. I ask myself, Is this something I really need? Am buying it to replace something I already have? We are very wasteful and I want to change that. I kind of wish that I had tried to go with cloth diapers, but I was too chicken with me going back to work. Maybe for the next baby :o)
I am on day 14 of the SlingandSwaddle contest, and while I would love to win, I don't think it's very likely. There are moms with thousands of followers who have really worked to get them. (I only have about 100 or so) I have really enjoyed the contest because it is a really great, group of supportive new moms. We ask and answer questions and tell funny stuff about our babies. It has been fun! If you want to know what we have been up to, follow me on twitter.
Milestones: Maya just mellowed out quite a bit when she hit 2.5 mo. She has become a pretty easy baby. She really only fusses now if she is hungry or tired. She is such a social baby and really smiles and coos at everybody (unless she is feeling stingy as she does from time to time). Recently she has discovered her hands and how well they fit in her mouth! She also LOVES playing with her burp pad (as you can see above).

One week down and one to go! Happy week everybody! Oh and SO EXCITED about the arrival of Baby Kellam!

this is another great book for making cleaners and that sort of thing:
http://www.amazon.com/Better-Basics-Home-Simple-Solutions/dp/0609803255
that book has recipes for anything you could possibly think of needing...not just cleaning stuff.
we only use homemade cleaners and soaps in our house and it really makes me feel like our home is cleaner because we don't bring in all the chemicals and whatnot
love the pics and so glad you survived your first week back to work! We too are looking forward to baby Kellam's arrival!
