It's going to take me forever to go through pictures and blog all of our fun, but I really want to do it because I love having something to look back on with all of our memories.
We had an AMAZING vacation at the beach.
We had an AMAZING vacation at the beach.
We survived our first LONG car trip with the kids. It ended up being about 10 hours both ways. The kids really did pretty great with a few hiccups here and there. I think it made it a little easier that they rode the whole time in separate cars.
DAY 1
Maya with her map that Mimi made for her for the trip right before we loaded up to go.
We stopped at the rocket rest stop in Huntsville
Saw a crop duster plane that flew RIGHT over us on the interstate.
Gray was mostly entertained though he was probably the least happy traveler.
We stopped at the infamous Peach Park and had pretty mixed reviews in our crew.
(yes I know what this picture looks like, and no i don't care)
We made it to our beautiful house for the week and made a trip down to the seaside food trucks and a quick walk on the beach.
Day 2
We were a little unsure of the weather and going out to the beach, so we took a little spin in the golf cart to check out the area.
Then I said let's do it, and we headed out.
Gray wasn't too sure overall about the beach, but he liked his snacks
having fun in the sand with Pops
I went on an adventure with mom and dad to get seafood. We drove about 15 miles (no thanks to the navigation system!) when actually the place was only about 5 miles away. It didn't matter, it was such yummy seafood! They steam the shrimp for you, and it was all dad and I could do to not break into the box on the way home, it smelled so good. Jared made some excellent grilled black grouper.
That night Jenny took the "old fogies" (as she referred to us) out.
We didn't make it too long because this mama was tired from traveling, and two kids not sleeping that well away from home. (And we won't talk about how we took the golf cart beyond the limits and ended up on a highway with cars on accident.)
We did hit up Bud & Alley's beach bar which was fun!
Day 3
Back to the beach!
Little man in the sand with his backpack of toys.

That night we ate more seafood and played Mexican Train.
Okay, now my brain hurts from trying to figure out what we did each day, so I am going to stop for now. Stay tuned....
