snow, snow, and more snow!!!

I am starting to wonder if we still live in Nashville. For years and years, it was a big deal if we got an inch of snow, because it just didn’t happen very often. The last few years we have been getting more snow, and this year we have had several good snows (3-4inches) which is VERY strange for us. We LOVE it though! I especially love it because it means an extra day at home with my girl. I already know that we are out tomorrow too. We are supposed to get more snow overnight, so I’m not sure when I’ll go back to work. It started snowing around midnight last night and then we woke up to beautiful snow!

(WARNING: Lots and lots of pictures)IMG_0513_1IMG_0514_1IMG_0541_1

you can see how deep it was around her bootsIMG_0521_1

watching Mommy make a snow angel, not sure what she thought about that….IMG_0525_1IMG_0551_1IMG_0553_1IMG_0555_1IMG_0561_1IMG_0564_1

We went in to warm up by the fire, and poor Daddy had to go to work.IMG_0574_1

Then Aunt Jenny and Mimi came over for more fun in the snow!IMG_0584_1IMG_0594_1

She really liked throwing snowballs.IMG_0607_1IMG_0611_1

and then we built a FROSTY!IMG_0613_1

She really liked that.IMG_0623_1

We attempted sledding on a lid with a little push from MimiIMG_0654_1

It didn’t work that well, but Maya loved it anyway. She kept saying “MORE MORE”IMG_0650_1IMG_0667_1IMG_0686_1IMG_0687_1IMG_0693_1IMG_0695_1IMG_0698_1

then we made snow cream! I have never made it before and we are BIG FANS!IMG_0703IMG_0708

The recipe we used was  a cup of milk, a tsp of vanilla, a 1/2 c. sugar. Blend that with a hand mixer, then add snow and stir in with a spoon until it’s like ice cream. The recipe also called for an egg, but not supposed to eat raw eggs pregnant, so we skipped that one. We LOVED it anyway!

More snow adventures tomorrow.
