Oh my gosh, my baby is just getting closer and closer to being two. We have already started thinking about her 2nd birthday party. I just can’t believe it!
Here is what my little munchkin has been up to:
Maya has been talking up a storm! She is putting two and even more words together. It has been amazing how quickly her language has expanded. Some of her phrases are “hi daddy”, “No mama”, “I pee-pee”, “more cookie”, “help mama”, “baby eat”. She has also started making everything possessive i.e. “mommy’s” “daddy’s”. She will point to our phones or bed pillows and name whose it is. She even requested my cereal one morning by pointing to the pantry and saying “mommy’s”. She is also really relaying information well. She is telling us “stories” in her own way. She also has gotten good at delivering messages. For example, I will tell her to go ask Daddy and she actually will!
She loves to sing night-night to everyone! It is a song I started singing to her when she was teeny when I put her to bed, and now she loves to rock her babies or animals and sing to them. Often in the car she will sing night-night to everyone (mama, daddy, baby, mimi, elmo, etc….)
She has started jumping and getting both feet of the floor. She runs and climbs everywhere. She is more safe with her climbing now and seems to be more aware of falling. She plays and PLAYS
Her kitchen set from Santa has been a huge hit. She cooks food and feeds her babies all day long. I have been very impressed with her fine motor skills too. She has a very mature grasp on a pencil (that will make my OT friends very happy) and does lots of “writing” ![]()
We haven’t had any success in the potty since that first day, but she does like to sit on it and we do that A LOT!
Sharing is still REALLY hard for her. We are working on it a lot. And I think she does okay with it at school. She is still very independent. Her new favorite thing is going into rooms and slamming the door on us. Why do I have feeling that I am getting glimpses of her teenage years????
