You don’t have to guess what missy was doing in this picture :) (Let’s just say it involved a purple dinosaur)
The pose was too cute to pass up though. ![]()
Today was a big day. We went to visit the preschool that Maya will be starting in the fall. We had a great experience and I am very excited about her starting. I am not going to lie…I did tear up a bit when I walked into her classroom. I think I was thinking ahead to the first time I will leave her there. So far, she really hasn’t stayed with anyone that isn’t family. I KNOW that she is going to have so much fun once she adjusts and I know that it is going to be so good for her to socialize with other kids. I think it will likely be harder on me than it is on her.
Today she wasn’t too sure. She looked at us like “you guys are NOT leaving me here, right?” She didn’t get too far from Mommy and Daddy, but she was definitely very intrigued by the other kids and the toys. Daddy made the mistake of handing her a baby doll and she did NOT want to give it up. She CRIED when we had to take it away. I felt really, really good about the center and it just feels right. At the end of our visit, I found out that the director’s grandson was one of my students a few years back. That was a very neat connection. Everyone there was just very sweet and I think it is going to be a great first school for Ms. Maya. ![]()
Oh boy….have we ever entered the toddler years. Maya has been recently experimenting with tantrums and screaming to get her way. She was in the throes of one of these today….phew! This is called “planned ignoring while I take a picture with my cell phone”. This one was a doozy! Hopefully she will learn that these tantrums don’t get her her way and they will be short-lived. I feel quite sure that it is one of many testing phases that we will go through though.
I mostly took this picture so that my mom would believe me. I should’ve taken a video…I promise it could have been used in a torture chamber :)![]()
And look at this HAIR…it is getting out of control!
(smiling just a little while later)
She adores her little Adirondack chair. I couldn’t get her to sit still long enough to take a good picture!
Oh, how i love chubby baby hands!
Not much news on the house. We have dropped our price again. We have had lots and lots of showings (17 to be exact), but no offers. Everyone gives good feedback. I just think that there are so many options for people out there. It will sell, it is just going to take awhile….
Also, summer is coming to an end for me. I am so sad, because it has been a GREAT summer! I have a few more days and I am going to enjoy every second!
