my 13 month old

Maya is 13 months old today! I am not going to try and get the bunny picture anymore because she is way too mobile! So we are going to do pictures in her Maya chair for her second year.

(the lighting in this picture is terrible, but I love how she looks like such a big girl :)

So my 13 month old is WALKING and I mean WALKING. She pretty much walks everywhere now.She even does really good transitioning between different surfaces.  She squats to play and gets back up. She carries items around with her when she walks. She carries babies, a big ball, and will walk around with a play phone to her ear!

She still says “da-da” all the time, but has stopped saying" “ma-ma”. Everyone is “da-da”! She still says “da” for dog. She is now signing “more” and “all done”. We are working on “milk”, “help”, and “eat” which she has made attempts at all 3. She follows all sorts of directions now; “come here”, “give me”, “eat”, and more! She will also point to all sorts of things that we name in books and real objects. If I tell her to go get something, she will. It is so cool to see how much she understands! My favorite things she does is when I say “cow says…” she says “mmmm” and she will say “mmmm” whenever she sees a cow.

It really is true that every parent thinks their child is a genius!
