Wow! This was quite a week. We had a lot going on with dress rehearsal, Maya's first dentist appointment, and of course all of the normal crazy working parents stuff. This weekend was Gray's birthday party, Maya had her dance recital, AND it was Father's day!
I am so glad, that we decided to just do a family party for Gray this year. It was very low key and allowed everyone to rest before the recital that night.
It was a "Jake" party and this super-cute cake was pretty yummy!
Grayson was a big fan
He got some really fun presents. His guitar!
And a fun golf set
and this super cool digger truck
And then it was dance recital time. Maya hasn't been feeling great and she had been up since 3:30AM but as every dancer knows...the show must go on!
And she rocked it!
It is so very different from where she was last summer this time when she wouldn't even stand up with the other dancers during recital.
Here is a little video from dress rehearsal:
(the little girl's bow fell off next to her and she kept pointing it out. that is Mom and i laughing hysterically at her)
And today we celebrated the Daddies. I am so very lucky to have this wonderful man as a father to my children.
We got to spend some time with both Dads and we took a trip to the pool this afternoon.
I was so proud of both of my little ones this afternoon. Maya was doing so well with her swimming. She kicked all over the pool all alone on her kickboard, did some floating on her back, and did well going under the water. This is more than she was doing after lessons last summer, so I am hoping after lessons in two weeks that she will be making some good progress. Gray is a little fish now. I can hardly believe that just a few weeks ago, he would scream just being in the pool. He is swimming around with his floaties and jumping in the pool. He is also doing well with going under the water.
It was a very busy, but very fun weekend!
