I can’t even believe that I am posting that it is my son’s first birthday. It really does seem like just yesterday that we were anxiously awaiting his arrival. But (sigh) time marches on…
We had a nice weekend celebrating his birthday. We had a little party on Saturday and I have TONS of pictures to go through from that that I will post soon. Oh and just wait until you see his cake smash…Grayson did not disappoint.
I know that my Papa and Grammie were there with us watching over us from their beautiful seat in heaven. It is comforting to know that we have these wonderful guardian angels with us always.
The day that Papa passed away, we were at the park taking pictures. Somehow I just know that he was there with us too.
My big boy is a FULL time walker now.
He started walking and hasn’t stopped! He cruises all over the house and is into EVERYTHING. He has started pointing to things and waved on his own for the first time today. He is also started to pick up signs. He will occasionally sign “more” for food. He has the most sparkling smile and laugh that will brighten anyone’s day. He is just the sweetest little boy. He is one tough cookie and has no fear at all. He is fighting back with sissy though! He can yell at her and let her know when he is not happy.
He weighs 21lbs. He sleeps pretty great now (well you know…great for a child of mine). He may wake up once in the night but a lot of nights he sleeps 7p-6a. Yay! He has eight teeth. He is eating just about everything and we started whole milk when he is away from me. No more pumping…wahoo!!! I have a feeling he will wean sooner that Maya did, but we will see. He loves to kick and throw balls. He loves splashing in water, though the big pool he hasn’t quite taken to. He got a new riding car for his birthday which he loves! He will hammer with his little play tools. He also started putting his hands together at meals when we pray which is just the most adorable thing I have ever seen! He babbles all the time. He says “mama” and “dada” but I don’t think they are quite associated with us yet.
You wonder when you have a child and are thinking about a second, how you could ever love another child as much as you do your first…but wow, you just do. This sweet little boy has added so much joy to our lives. I absolutely adore watching the relationship blossom between my two children. I am so unbelievably grateful for the opportunity to be this wonderful little boy’s mother.
